Who is
Carers SA?

Carers SA provides support to family carers across South Australia.

Carers are at the heart of everything we do. We want your contribution to be valued and your voice to be heard. You should know we’re with you, every step of the way. We support you through offering advice, information, training, counselling and respite.

What do we do?

Carers SA has a key role in empowering family carers, by providing quality services and programs to support
their needs, and the needs of the people they care for.

We are the voice of carers, so that their contribution to the South Australian community
and economy is recognised.

Carers SA encourages partnership with government and the health and community sectors to enhance service provision and improve the conditions for family carers through policy development, research and advocacy.

Our strategic objectives are for carers to enjoy improved health, well-being, resilience and financial security and have access to high quality, affordable services for themselves and the person they care for so that they have, within their caring role, a work-life balance.

Our History

Looking back at what started in 1988 as an idea, then in 1989 became a grassroots movement of carers and service providers, we now see an organisation that has grown and evolved to become a state wide organisation.

Meet the Team

Carers SA utilises the talents and skills of a dedicated board, an experienced management team, a knowledgeable staff group, and key volunteers to underpin our work with, and on behalf of, caring families.
